The Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs met at 9:10 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Rob Anders, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Rob Anders, Rodger Cuzner, Betty Hinton, Gilles-A. Perron, Jean-Yves Roy, Bev Shipley, Brent St. Denis, Peter Stoffer, David Sweet and Roger Valley.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michel Rossignol, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Veterans Affairs Canada: Kathy Darte, Program Co-Manager, Operational Stress Injury Social Support Advisory Committee. As an individual: Col Donald S. Ethell, (retired), Chair, Joint Department of National Defence and Veterans Affairs Canada Operational Stress Injury Social Support Advisory Committee . Department of National Defence: LCol Jim Jamieson, (retired), Medical Advisor, Operational Stress Injury Social Support Advisory Committee; Maj Mariane Le Beau, Project Manager, Operational Stress Injury Social Support Advisory Committee.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, May 16 2006, the Committee resumed its study on the Veterans Independence Programme and Health Care Review.
 

Col Donald S. Ethell, (retired), made a presentation and, with Maj Mariane LeBeau, Kathy Darte, LCol Jim Jamieson, (retired), answered questions.

 

It was agreed, — That the following witnesses:
