Meeting No. 14

Tuesday, March 18, 2003

The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met at 9:10 a.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, David Pratt, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Claude Bachand, Leon Benoit, Bill Blaikie, Cheryl Gallant, Ivan Grose, Dominic LeBlanc, Joe McGuire, Lawrence O'Brien, Janko Perić, David Pratt, David Price.

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Michel Rossignol, Research Officer.

Witnesses: From the Department of National Defence: Vice-Admiral Ron Buck, Chief of the Maritime Staff; Commodore J.C.J.Y. Forcier, Director General, Maritime Personnel and Readiness.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of its study on Canada-United States Defence Cooperation.

Vice-Admiral Buck made an opening statement and, with the other witness, answered questions.

At 11:00 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
