The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met at 9:37 a.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Charles Hubbard, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: David Anderson, Rick Borotsik, Murray Calder, Mark Eyking, Marcel Gagnon, Howard Hilstrom, Charles Hubbard, Larry McCormick, Dick Proctor, Paul Steckle, Rose-Marie Ur.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge and Jean-Denis Fréchette, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From AGCare (Agricultural Groups Concerned About Resources and the Environment): Jim Fischer, Chairman; Jeff Wilson, Director, Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association; John Gorzo Jr., 1st Vice President, Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), Briefing Session with AGCare (Agricultural Groups Concerned About Resources and the Environment) regarding issues of pesticides approval and increased competitiveness for Canadian farmers.
Jeff Wilson, Jim Fischer and John Gorzo Jr. made a presentation and answered questions.
At 10:57 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
