Thursday, March 2, 2000

The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 3:40 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Acting Chair, Jean Augustine, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Sarkis Assadourian, Jean Augustine, Francine Lalonde, Keith Martin, Denis Paradis.

From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Gerald Schmitz and James Lee, Research Officers.

Witness: Guill Rishchynski, Ambassador of Canada to Colombia.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee continued to examine the situation of human rights in Colombia.

Ambassador Guill Rishchynski made an opening statement and answered questions.

At 5:13 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
