The Standing Committee on Natural Resources and Government Operations met at 11:05 o’clock a.m. this day, in room 371, West Block, the Chair, Brent St. Denis, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Gérard Asselin, Gilles Bernier, Roy Cullen, Ovid L. Jackson, Jerry Pickard, Carmen Provenzano, Darrel Stinson, Brent St. Denis and Bob Wood.
Acting Members present: Julian Reed for Raymonde Folco; Eugene Bellemare for Ben Serré.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Jean-Luc Bourdages, Research Officer.
Witnesses: From the Canadian Petroleum Products Institute: Jack Belletrutti, Vice-President; Robert Clapp, Vice-President. From the Canadian Chemical Producers' Association: Richard Paton, President and Chief Executive Officer; Bruce Caswell, Senior Project Manager. From the Pembina Institute for Appropriate Development: Robert Hornung, Director, Climate Change. From the Sierra Club of Canada: Louise Comeau, Campaign Director for Climate Change.
In accordance with its mandate under Standing Order 108(2), an examination of the issues surrounding the Kyoto Conference on Climate Change.
The witnesses made statements and answered questions.
