The Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights met at 9:08 a.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Shaughnessy Cohen, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Shaughnessy Cohen, Paul DeVillers, Sheila Finestone, Derek Lee, Peter G. MacKay, John Maloney, Richard Marceau, John McKay et Jack Ramsay.
Acting Members present: Chuck Cadman for Paul E. Forseth, John Reynolds for Garry Breitkreuz.
Associate Member present: Howard Hilstrom.
In attendance: : From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Philip Rosen, Senior Analyst.
Witness: From the Canadian Security Intelligence Service: Ward P.D. Elcock, Director.
The Committee resumed consideration of its Order of Reference of Thursday, February 26, 1998, relating to the Main Estimates for 1998-99 (See Minutes of Proceedings, Monday, April 20, 1998, Meeting No.50).
By unanimous consent, the Chair called Vote 10, under SOLICITOR GENERAL.
The witness answered questions.
At 10:50 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
