The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met in camera at 3:35 o’clock p.m., this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Stan Dromisky, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Jean Augustine, Sarmite Bulte, Norman Doyle, Stan Dromisky, Raymonde Folco, Louise Hardy, Sophia Leung, Steve Mahoney, John N. McKay, Grant McNally, Réal Ménard, Maria Minna, Deepak Obhrai, John Reynolds and Jacques Saada.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Margaret Young, Research Officer.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of Recommendation 155 of the Report of the Legislative Review Advisory Group entitled "Not just Numbers: A Canadian Framework for Future Immigration", particularly issues relating to removal and detention. (See Minutes of Proceeding of Wednesday, February 18, 1998, Meeting No. 10.)
The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.
At 5:08 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
