"The Fathers of Confederation" Sylvia Lefkovitz, Sculptor
This sculpture was created for the Centennial train and Caraans as the result of a competition held by the Canadian Government Exhibition Commission on behalf of the Centennial Commission.
The figures in the centre symbolize the thirty-six Fathers of Confederation. The figures on the outer platform represent the various peoples brought together in newly formed Dominion when the British North America act came into force July 1, 1867.
