In the House

In the House, Members come together to make laws, hold the government to account and decide on the affairs of the country.

In committees, Members undertake studies on departmental spending, legislation and issues related to their mandate, after which they report their conclusions to the House.

Committees

As soon as Parliament is prorogued, all committee activities cease and, as such, all orders of reference and committee studies lapse. No committee can sit during a prorogation.
