- Anti-Palestinian racism is on the rise and is often ignored. Distinct from Islamophobia, Anti-Palestinian racism silences and dehumanizes Palestinians, thereby upholding the settler-colonial narrative. Conflating APR with Islamophobia denies the distinct racism faced by Palestinians and suggests the struggle is between religions, rather than a struggle against colonialism;
- If APR is not recognized and addressed, it will continue to be viewed as acceptable and the dehumanization and discrimination against Palestinians and their advocates will continue unabated; and
- The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s Working Definition of Antisemitism (IHRA-WDA) is problematic, vague, and its appended examples conflate antisemitism with criticism of Israel to discredit and suppress legitimate criticism of Israel’s policies. Over a thousand scholars, civil-society organizations and Jewish groups caution against or downright reject it.
