In March 2023, 193 witnesses (91.9% of that month’s total) completed and passed their pre-test, 8 (3.8%) completed but failed their pre-test, 3 (1.4%) did not attend their scheduled pre-test, and 6 (2.9%) did not schedule a pre-test. In April 2023, 106 witnesses (93.8% of that month’s total) completed and passed their pre-test, 1 (0.9%) completed but failed their pre-test, 1 (0.9%) did not attend their scheduled pre-test, and 5 (4.4%) did not schedule a pre-test. In May 2023, 230 witnesses (92.4% of that month’s total) completed and passed their pre-test, 5 (2.0%) completed but failed their pre-test, 2 (0.8%) did not attend their scheduled pre-test, and 12 (4.8%) did not schedule a pre-test. In June 2023, 161 witnesses (93.6% of that month’s total) completed and passed their pre-test, 4 (2.3%) completed but failed their pre-test, 3 (1.8%) did not attend their scheduled pre-test, and 4 (2.3%) did not schedule a pre-test. In September 2023, 38 witnesses (90.4% of that month’s total) completed and passed their pre-test, 2 (4.8%) completed but failed their pre-test, 0 (0%) did not attend their scheduled pre-test, and 2 (4.8%) did not schedule a pre-test.

In March 2023, 93% of witnesses used a House of Commons-approved headset, 5% of witnesses used a headset from another source, and 2% had no headset (using instead a device-integrated microphone). In April 2023, 99% of witnesses used a House of Commons-approved headset, 0% of witnesses used a headset from another source, and 1% had no headset (using instead a device-integrated microphone). In May 2023, 98% of witnesses used a House of Commons-approved headset, 1% of witnesses used a headset from another source, and 1% had no headset (using instead a device-integrated microphone). In June 2023, 99% of witnesses used a House of Commons-approved headset, 0% of witnesses used a headset from another source, and 1% had no headset (using instead a device-integrated microphone). In September 2023, 97% of witnesses used a House of Commons-approved headset, 3% of witnesses used a headset from another source, and 0% had no headset (using instead a device-integrated microphone).

In March 2023, for interpretation issues reported during meetings, 32 were related to remote participant configuration, 6 were undefined with interpretation impact, 14 were related to a user error, 4 were undefined with no interpretation impact, 8 were related to a technical problem with the room, 1 was related to a participant issue in the room, 1 was related to other and 0 was related to feedback noise. In April 2023, for interpretation issues reported during meetings, 7 were related to remote participant configuration, 8 were undefined with interpretation impact, 13 were related to a user error, 0 was undefined with no interpretation impact, 2 were related to a technical problem with the room, 2 were related to a participant issue in the room, 0 was related to other and 0 was related to feedback noise. In May 2023, for interpretation issues reported during meetings, 25 were related to remote participant configuration, 3 were undefined with interpretation impact, 12 were related to a user error, 2 were undefined with no interpretation impact, 7 were related to a technical problem with the room, 1 was related to a participant issue in the room, 0 was related to other and 0 was related to feedback noise. In June 2023, for interpretation issues reported during meetings, 8 were related to remote participant configuration, 4 were undefined with interpretation impact, 5 were related to a user error, 0 was undefined with no interpretation impact, 5 were related to a technical problem with the room, 1 was related to a participant issue in the room, 2 were related to other and 1 was related to feedback noise. In March 2023, for committee meeting participants participating by videoconference, 39% had a Wi-Fi connection, 60% had a wired connection, and 1% had a cellular connection. In April 2023, for committee meeting participants participating by videoconference, 40% had a Wi-Fi connection, 58% had a wired connection, and 2% had a cellular connection. In May 2023, for committee meeting participants participating by videoconference, 39% had a Wi-Fi connection, 59% had a wired connection, and 2% had a cellular connection. In June 2023, for committee meeting participants participating by videoconference, 39% had a Wi-Fi connection, 59% had a wired connection, and 2% had a cellular connection. In September 2023, for committee meeting participants participating by videoconference, 34% had a Wi-Fi connection, 65% had a wired connection, and 1% had a cellular connection.

In general, wired connectivity provides a better audio chain.

In March 2023, for witnesses at committee meetings, 64% appeared in person and 36% by videoconference. In April 2023, for witnesses at committee meetings, 68% appeared in person and 32% by videoconference. In May 2023, for witnesses at committee meetings, 67% appeared in person and 33% by videoconference. In June 2023, for witnesses at committee meetings, 64% appeared in person and 36% by videoconference. In September 2023, for witnesses at committee meetings, 66% appeared in person and 34% by videoconference.

In August 2022, 48% of the minutes spoken by participants were in person and 52% by videoconference. In September 2022, 73% of the minutes spoken by participants were in person and 27% by videoconference. In November 2022, 72% of the minutes spoken by participants were in person and 28% by videoconference. In December 2022, 83% of the minutes spoken by participants were in person and 17% by videoconference.
