Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, the committee resumed its study of tax revenues from businesses on First Nations Territories.

Lesley Taylor, Robert Brookfield and Isabelle Brault made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 11:55 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:00 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Rob Wright and Michelle Kovacevic made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

Motion

Martin Shields moved, — That, given that the appearance of the Minister of Indigenous Services and the Minister of Northern Affairs was delayed due to votes on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the committee re-invites the Minister of Indigenous Services and the Minister of Northern Affairs to appear separately for a minimum of one hour each to discuss the Main Estimates 2024-25, and that this meeting be held no later than May 31, 2024.

Debate arose thereon.

It was agreed, — That, given that the appearance of the Minister of Indigenous Services and the Minister of Northern Affairs was delayed due to votes on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the committee re-invites the Minister of Indigenous Services and the Minister of Northern Affairs to appear for a minimum of one hour to discuss the Main Estimates 2024-25, and that this meeting be held no later than May 31, 2024.

At 12:42 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
