Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, the committee resumed its study of derelict and abandoned vessels.

David Roberts made a statement and answered questions.

At 5:23 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 5:26 p.m., the meeting resumed.

John Roe, Jacob Banting and Benjamin Boulton made statements and answered questions.

At 6:13 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 6:17 p.m., the meeting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $500.00, for the study of the portfolio and priorities of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $20,250.00, for the study of the impact of the reopening of the cod fishery in Newfoundland and Labrador and Quebec, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That members have until Friday, October 4, 2024, at 5:00 p.m., to send their prioritized list of witnesses to the clerk for the statutory review of the Fisheries Act.

At 6:26 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
