Pursuant to the order of reference of Monday, May 16, 2022, the committee resumed its study of the Canada–People’s Republic of China relations.

Nathalie G. Drouin made a statement and, with David Vigneault, answered questions.

At 8:30 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Matthew Gilmour made a statement and answered questions.

Motion

Stéphane Bergeron gave notice of the following motion:

That, pursuant to the order of reference of Monday, May 16, 2022, the committee, in light of the government's expressed intention to normalize relations with the People's Republic of China, invite in person and before June 21, 2024, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change; Mr. David Morrison, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; the Canadian Ambassador to China, as well as the President of the Canada-China Legislative Association.

Questioning of the witness resumed.

At 9:29 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
