Standing Joint Committee for the Scrutiny of Regulations (REGS)
Mandate
The Standing Joint Committee for the Scrutiny of Regulations reviews and scrutinizes government regulations and other statutory instruments.
Summary of Committee Activity
During the period of April 1 to December 31, 2020, the committee did not meet.
During the period of January 1 to March 31, 2021, the committee met once. It elected two joint chairs. It also adopted the first report of the committee as part of its study of the review of statutory instruments. This report was presented to and concurred in by the House on March 22.
