Pursuant to the order of reference of Thursday, October 29, 2020, the committee resumed consideration of Bill C-7, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (medical assistance in dying).

Julie Campbell, Roger Foley, John Sikkema and Krista Carr made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 12:00 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:06 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Catherine Frazee made a statement by prerecorded video.

Ewan C. Goligher made a statement.

Heidi Janz made a statement by prerecorded video.

Taylor Hyatt and Michel Racicot made statements.

The witnesses answered questions.

It was agreed, — That the committee continue to sit beyond 1 p.m. in order to complete a second round of questions.

It was agreed, — That the Canadian Nurses Association be invited to appear during the second hour of the meeting scheduled for Thursday, November 12, 2020.

Motion

Rob Moore moved, — That, notwithstanding the decision taken previously, the committee devote two additional hearings on Bill C-7, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (medical assistance in dying).

At 1:38 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 1:39 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The committee resumed consideration of the motion of Rob Moore, — That, notwithstanding the decision taken previously, the committee devote two additional hearings on Bill C-7, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (medical assistance in dying).

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was negatived on the following recorded division:
