Francis Lanouette, Kimberley Greenwood, Christopher Sheppard, Abimbola Ajibolade and Raheena Dahya made statements and answered questions.
It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding any previous decisions, the committee commence the study of Bill C-218, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (sports betting), in the second hour of its meeting of Tuesday, February 23, 2021, and that the committee invite the sponsor of the Bill to appear; that the committee hold two meetings on the subject, on Thursday, February 25, and Tuesday, March 9, and then proceed to clause-by-clause consideration on Thursday, March 11; that the parties submit to the clerk their list of proposed witnesses for this study on Monday, February 22, at 12:00 p.m. (ET), provided that the Liberal Party and the Conservative Party propose four priority witnesses each and that the Bloc Québécois and the New Democratic Party propose two each.
At 1:11 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
