The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

The committee resumed consideration of the motion moved by Louise Chabot on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, which read as follows:

That a proposed budget in the amount of $4,300, for the study of the impact of COVID-19 on seniors, be adopted.

At 3:51 p.m., Raquel Dancho took the Chair.

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to.

The committee resumed consideration of the motion moved on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, which read as follows:

That the amount of the 2021 Centennial Flame Research Award be set at $5,500, that the deadline for submitting an application be set at Tuesday, June 15, 2021, and that a news release be published on the committee’s website.

The debate continued.

Amendment

Adam Vaughan moved, — That the motion be amended by replacing the number “5,500” with the number “6,700”, and replacing the words "Tuesday, June 15, 2021” with the words “Thursday, July 1, 2021”.

Pursuant to Standing Orders 110 and 111 and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, May 6, 2021, the committee commenced consideration of the Order in Council appointment of Romy Bowers to the position of President of the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, referred to the committee on Friday, March 26, 2021.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, the committee resumed its study of the rapid housing initiative.

Romy Bowers made a statement and answered questions.

Motion

Brad Vis moved, — That Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation provide the committee with the complete and unredacted versions of Order Paper questions Q-244, Q-350, and Q-420 within 10 business days.

Debate arose thereon.

Corey Tochor moved, — That the motion be amended by adding after the words “10 business days” the following: “with the exception of the confidential monetary figures and proprietary information that could inhibit current and future projects”.
