Pursuant to the order of reference of Wednesday, February 3, 2021, the committee resumed consideration of Bill C-204, An Act to amend the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (final disposal of plastic waste).

The committee resumed its clause-by-clause study of the Bill.

The committee resumed consideration of the amendment of Ya’ara Saks — That Bill C-204 be amended by adding after line 10 on page 2 the following new clause:

“Coming into Force

4 The provisions of this Act come into force on a day to be fixed by order of the Governor in Council.”

and of the subamendment of Dan Albas, — That the amendment be amended by replacing the words “on a day to be fixed by order of the Governor in Council.” with the words “six months after the day on which this Act receives royal assent.”

By unanimous consent, it was agreed that the subamendment of Dan Albas be amended by replacing the words “six months” with the words “twelve months”.

After debate, the question was put on the subamendment, as amended, of Dan Albas and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:

After debate, the amendment of Laurel Collins was agreed to by unanimous consent.

By unanimous consent, Schedule 1, as amended, carried.
