Pursuant to the order of reference of Tuesday, February 16, 2021, the committee resumed consideration of Bill C-10, An Act to amend the Broadcasting Act and to make related and consequential amendments to other Acts.

Carol Ann Pilon, Kevin Desjardins, Luc Perreault and Joel Fortune made statements and answered questions.

At 2:03 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 2:10 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Nathalie Guay, Bill Skolnik, Wendy Noss and Pierre Karl Péladeau made statements and, with John Morgan Lewis, answered questions.

At 3:07 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 3:17 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the committee resume consideration of the draft report for the study of challenges and issues faced by the arts, culture, heritage and sport sectors during the COVID-19 pandemic following the conclusion of the consideration of Bill C-10, An Act to amend the Broadcasting Act and to make related and consequential amendments to other Acts.

ORDERED, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(1)(a), and further to the motion adopted by the committee on February 26, 2021, Mark Zuckerberg, Chief Executive Officer of Facebook, be summoned to appear before the committee for at least 90 minutes at a date, time, and location to be determined by the Chair, but no later than 30 days following the adoption of this motion.

ORDERED, — That the committee publish on its website the documents received from the Department of Canadian Heritage, pursuant to the motion adopted by the committee on February 26, 2021.

At 3:38 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
