The Chair presented the First Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows:
Your subcommittee met on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, to consider the business of the committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:
1. That, in relation to the study of Business Risk Management programs:
- the Chair propose a summer sitting calendar for July, August and September, for the consideration of the committee at the next regularly scheduled meeting, taking into account that meetings in July will be scheduled after July 3;
- that the meeting of Wednesday, June 17, 2020, will have one hour of scheduled witness testimony and one hour of committee business for the consideration of the draft letter to the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food; and
- the letter for the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food be sent in carbon copy to all provincial ministers of agriculture.
It was agreed, — That the First Report from the subcommittee be concurred in.
It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study on Business Risk Management Programs: (1) the committee meet on the following dates during the summer: Tuesday, June 23; Wednesday, July 8; Wednesday, August 19; and, if necessary, Wednesday, September 2 and 16, 2020; (2) the meeting on Tuesday, June 23, and the first hour of the meeting on Wednesday, July 8, be dedicated to hearings; (3) the second hour of the meeting on Wednesday, July 8, be dedicated to giving drafting instructions to the analysts for a report; and (4) the meetings on Wednesday, August 19, August 2 and September 16 be reserved for consideration of the draft report.
