Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Monday, October 29, 2018, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-84, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (bestiality and animal fighting).

Alice Crook, by videoconference from Montreal, Quebec, Camille Labchuk and Barbara Cartwright made statements and answered questions.

At 9:50 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:56 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Josie Candito, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, and Peter Sankoff, by videoconference from Edmonton, Alberta, made statements and answered questions.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the Legislative Drafting Seminar on Modern Slavery hosted by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association UK, the proposed budget in the amount of $22,479.59, for the Committee’s travel to London, United Kingdom, from March 26 to 29, 2019, be adopted.

At 10:41 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
