The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to a study on accessibility and disabled Canadians, the proposed budget in the amount of $117,947.60, for the Committee’s travel to the Greater Vancouver Regional District, British Columbia, Powell River, British Columbia, Toronto, Ontario, Thunder Bay, Ontario, and Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec, in March 2018, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of experiential learning and pathways to employment for Canadian youth, the Committee invite the Hon. Patty Hajdu, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour, to appear for one hour on Tuesday, November 28, 2017.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of experiential learning and pathways to employment for Canadian youth, the Committee invite officials from relevant departments to appear on Thursday, November 30, 2017.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of experiential learning and pathways to employment for Canadian youth, the Committee add an additional meeting to hear witnesses on the subject of entrepreneurship.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of experiential learning and pathways to employment for Canadian youth, the Committee meet on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, to hear from witnesses on the subject of youth underemployment, and that Committee meet on Thursday, December 7, 2017, to hear from witnesses on the subject of youth unemployment.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of experiential learning and pathways to employment for Canadian youth, the Committee hear from witnesses on the following subjects, in order: volunteerism and internships and how they inform work decisions for students, school-to-work transition strategy in Canada compared with international models and programs, apprenticeships, co-op programs and work-integrated learning, and entrepreneurship.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of experiential learning and pathways to employment for Canadian youth, each party send to the Clerk of the Committee, no later than Monday, November 27, 2017 at 5:00 p.m., a prioritized list of witnesses, including their contact information, for the meetings of Tuesday, December 5, 2017 and Thursday, December 7, 2017.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of experiential learning and pathways to employment for Canadian youth, each party send a prioritized list of witnesses, including their contact information, for the rest of the meetings, to the Clerk of the Committee no later than Friday, January 12, 2018.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of experiential learning and pathways to employment for Canadian youth, the deadline to submit a brief of no more than 2,000 words be Friday, March 2, 2018.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of experiential learning and pathways to employment for Canadian youth, the deadline to request to appear before the Committee be Sunday, December 31, 2017.
