Business of Supply Travaux des subsides

The Order was read for the consideration of the Business of Supply.

Mr. Dubé (Beloeil—Chambly), seconded by Ms. Blaney (North Island—Powell River), moved, — That, in the opinion of the House: (a) public infrastructure should serve the interests of Canadians, not work to make private investors rich; (b) during the election, the Liberals did not reveal to voters their plans to privatize investment in public infrastructure; (c) infrastructure built by private investors will cost more than public infrastructure; (d) it is a conflict of interest to allow private corporations, who will be the largest beneficiaries of the Canada Infrastructure Bank, to participate in the planning and development of the Bank; (e) the Bank will leave taxpayers with an unacceptable burden of fees, tolls, and privatization that will only make private investors wealthy, to the detriment of the public interest; and (f) the clauses concerning the Canada Infrastructure Bank’s creation should be removed from Bill C-44, Budget Implementation Act, 2017, No. 1, so they can be studied as a stand-alone bill.

M. Dubé (Beloeil—Chambly), appuyé par Mme Blaney (North Island—Powell River), propose, — Que, de l'avis de la Chambre : a) les infrastructures publiques doivent servir aux concitoyens et non pas à enrichir des investisseurs privés; b) les Libéraux n'ont jamais dévoilé aux électeurs leur plan d'investissements privés dans les infrastructures publiques pendant les élections; c) les infrastructures construites par des intérêts privés coûteront plus que des infrastructures publiques; d) c’est un conflit d’intérêts que les sociétés privées, qui seront parmi les plus grandes bénéficiaires de la Banque de l’infrastructure du Canada, contribuent à la création et à la conception de la Banque; e) cette Banque laissera aux contribuables un fardeau inacceptable de tarifs, de péages et de privatisations qui ne serviraient qu’à enrichir les investisseurs privés au détriment de l’intérêt public; f) les articles relatifs à la création de la Banque de l’infrastructure du Canada devraient être retirés du projet de loi C-44, Loi no 1 d’exécution du budget de 2017, afin d'être étudiés dans un projet de loi indépendant.
