Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee commenced its study of cost estimate of Bill C-239, An Act to Amend the Income Tax Act (Charitable Gifts) and cost estimate of Bill C-241, An Act to Amend the Excise Act (School Authorities)

Jean-Denis Fréchette made a statement, and with the other witnesses, answered questions.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, the Committee commenced its study of recent reports by the Parliamentary Budget Officer.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Committee hear Alain Deneault and Michael C. Hamersley, on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, for one hour, on the study of the Canada Revenue Agency’s efforts to combat tax avoidance and evasion.

It was agreed, — That the Clerk and Committee staff prepare budgets for the study of the pre-budget consultations in advance of the 2017 budget, to be considered by the Committee at a future meeting.

At 1:04 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
