Minutes of Proceedings
It was agreed, — That the Committee study the Main Estimates 2016-17 and the Reports on Plans and Priorities 2016-17, that relevant ministers be invited to appear to discuss the Main Estimates and Reports on Plans and Priorities, and that representatives of departments, agencies and organizations whose Votes were referred to the Committee be invited to appear as witnesses.
It was agreed, — That the Committee study the Defence Procurement Strategy, and that representatives of Public Services and Procurement Canada, the Department of National Defence, and the Department of Fisheries and Oceans be invited to appear as witnesses for one meeting.
It was agreed, — That, regarding the Committee’s study of the estimates process: the Hon. Scott Brison, President of the Treasury Board, and senior officials of the Treasury Board Secretariat, be invited to appear and brief the Committee on a budget alignment discussion paper; Michael Ferguson, Auditor General of Canada, and senior officials of the Office of the Auditor General of Canada, be invited to appear and brief the Committee on the estimates process; and, representatives of the Australian government be invited to brief the Committee on Australia’s budget process.
It was agreed, — That, regarding a letter received from the Hon. Judy Foote, Minister of Public Services and Procurement, the Committee attend a site tour of key projects undertaken to restore and modernize Canada’s Parliament Buildings.
It was agreed, — That the Committee invite representatives of the Canada Lands Company Limited, Defence Construction (1951) Limited, and the Public Service Labour Relations and Employment Board to appear before the Committee as witnesses.
It was agreed, — That the Committee publish to the Committee Website all publicly submitted briefs related to Committee studies.
It was agreed, — That the Committee consider Committee Business again before Tuesday, June 21, 2016, and consider future business; and that the Committee shall not meet on Thursday, June 23, 2016.
At 4:50 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
