Pierre-Luc Dusseault moved, — That the Committee proceed to sit in public for the Committee business part of today's meeting.
The question was put on the motion and it was negatived on the following recorded division:
YEAS: James Bezan, Pierre-Luc Dusseault, Tom Kmiec, Pierre Poilievre — 4;
NAYS: Rachel Bendayan, Peter Fragiskatos, Michael V. McLeod, Kim Rudd, Francesco Sorbara — 5.
At 12:08 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 12:20 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.
It was agreed, — That, in relation to the Committee’s 2020 pre-budget consultations:
(a) the Committee invite Canadians to share their recommendations in briefs of no longer than 2000 words, submitted through the Committee’s website, no later than Friday, August 2, 2019, at 11:59 p.m. EST;
(b) submissions received after the August 2 deadline be rejected;
(c) a succinct list of recommendations be included at the beginning of the written submissions;
(d) only one submission per individual or organization be accepted;
(e) a news release be prepared by the analysts and clerk, in consultation with the Chair, and be published on the Committee’s website to launch the process;
(f) this Committee invite the Standing Committee on Finance of the First Session of the Forty-Third Parliament to take into consideration the submissions received, should Parliament dissolve prior to a report being presented in the House pursuant to Standing Order 83.1.
At 1:01 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
