HOUSE OF COMMONS STANDING COMMITTEE ON INTERNATIONAL TRADE TO HOLD PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON TRANS-PACIFIC PARTNERSHIP IN MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC CITY, WINDSOR AND TORONTO

Ottawa, May 05, 2016 -

As part of its public consultation in relation to the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement, the House of Commons Standing Committee on International Trade will hold public hearings in the following cities on the dates indicated:

  • May 10, 2016: May 10, 2016:
    Montréal, Quebec
    9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (EDT)
    Fairmont Le Reine Elizabeth
    Marquette Room
    900 René Lévesque Boulevard West

  • May 11, 2016:
    Québec City, Quebec
    8:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. (EDT)
    Delta Québec Hotel
    Jonquière/Lauzon Room
    690 René Lévesque Boulevard East

  • May 12, 2016:
    Windsor, Ontario
    9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (EDT)
    Best Western Plus Waterfront Hotel
    Ontario/Erie Room

  • May 13, 2016:
    Toronto, Ontario
    8:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. (EDT)

Members of the public are invited to attend these hearings. Please note that witnesses and members of the public attending the meeting must clear security and provide photo identification before they can be granted access to the meeting room. Lines are to be expected.

A one-hour session will be provided for members of the public to speak to the committee and present their views on the TPP in each city. Members of the public who wish to speak at these sessions must register on-site at least 45 minutes before the scheduled time. The list of speakers will be determined on a first-come, first-served basis. The Committee Chair will decide how much time each speaker will be given based on the number of speakers.
