The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

Motion

Randy Hoback moved, — That the Committee immediately hold a meeting on the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement in order to receive an update from the Minister of International Trade and officials on the breakdown of talks between Canada and the European Union.

The question was put on the motion and it was negatived on the following recorded division:

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, the Committee resume its Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP) Public Consultation.

Alex Izurieta, by videoconference from Geneva, Switzerland, Chetan Mehta, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, Philip de Kemp, Jerry Giroux, Mark Nantais and Arnold Drung made statements and, with Jeronim Capaldo, by videoconference from Geneva, Switzerland, answered questions.

At 12:23 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:28 p.m., the sitting resumed.

H.E. Daniel John Mellsop made a statement and answered questions.

At 1:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
