Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 4, 2016, the Committee proceeded to a briefing session on the priority trade issues for the Government of Canada, other than the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

Susan Bincoletto, Kirsten Hillman and David Morrison made satements and, with Steve Verheul, answered questions.

At 10:24 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:27 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee immediately undertake a pre-study of the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP); that this pre-study consist of at least six meetings; that the committee travel across the country for hearings; that witnesses appear by videoconference when possible; and that the committee report its findings to the House.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the pre-study of the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP), members of the Committee submit to the Clerk of the Committee, by Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 12:00 p.m., their lists of witnesses.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee hold a meeting within the next month to study the Softwood Lumber Agreement between Canada and the United States.

At 10:48 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
