The Standing Committee on the Status of Women met in camera at 11:46 a.m. this day, in Room 228, The Valour Building, the Chair, Hélène LeBlanc, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: John Barlow, Joyce Bateman, Joan Crockatt, Mylène Freeman, Hélène LeBlanc, Tilly O'Neill Gordon, Pat Perkins and Susan Truppe.

 

Acting Members present: Jay Aspin for Joyce Bateman, Alain Giguère for Djaouida Sellah and Hon. Judy Sgro for Kirsty Duncan.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Laura Munn-Rivard, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Fifth Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in:

Your Subcommittee met on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, to consider the business of the Committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:

1. That the Committee consider the following topics for future studies:

  • Women in skilled trades and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) occupations;
  • Sexual Assault on Canadian Post-Secondary Campuses;
  • Pay Equity in the Public Sector

2. That each party provide a prioritized list of witnesses to the Clerk no later than Friday, February 27, 2015 at 4:00 p.m.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108 (2), the Committee undertake a study on Women in skilled trades and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) occupations.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, March 31, 2014, the Committee resumed its study of economic leadership and prosperity of Canadian women.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

At 1:02 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
