The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 8-53, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, Bev Shipley, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Malcolm Allen, Alex Atamanenko, Ruth Ellen Brosseau, Hon. Mark Eyking, Richard M. Harris, Randy Hoback, Pierre Lemieux, LaVar Payne, Joe Preston, Francine Raynault, Bev Shipley and Bob Zimmer.

Acting Members present: Isabelle Morin for Francine Raynault.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge, Analyst ; Khamla Heminthavong, Analyst.

Witnesses: Canadian Horticultural Council: Keith Kuhl, President; Anne Fowlie, Executive Vice-President. Spirits Canada: Jan Westcott, President and Chief Executive Officer; C.J. Helie, Executive Vice-President. Canadian Vintners Association: Dan Paszkowski, President and Chief Executive Officer. Canadian Produce Marketing Association: Jane Proctor, Vice-president, Policy and Issue Management. Canadian Aquaculture Industry Alliance: Ruth Salmon, Executive Director.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, the Committee resumed its study of the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) and the effects of it on the Canadian agriculture sector.

Ruth Salmon, Dan Paszkowski and Jan Westcott made statements and, with C.J. Helie, answered questions.

At 4:42 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:46 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Jane Proctor and Keith Kuhl made statements and, with Anne Fowlie, answered questions.

At 5:31 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
