The Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development met in camera at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 8-53, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, Chris Warkentin, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Carolyn Bennett, Ray Boughen, Rob Clarke, Earl Dreeshen, Jonathan Genest-Jourdain, Carol Hughes, Kyle Seeback, Mark Strahl and Chris Warkentin.

 

Acting Members present: Libby Davies for Jean Crowder.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Norah Kielland, Analyst; Tonina Simeone, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the First Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in:

Your Subcommittee met on Thursday, February 27, 2014, to consider “business of the Committee” and agreed to make the following recommendations:

That on March 4, 2014, the Committee consider the draft report for its study on Land-Use and Economic Development;

That on March 6, 2014, the Committee hear from the Minister and the Department on the Supplementary Estimates (C);

That on March 25 and 27, the Committee consider the draft report for its study on Land-Use and Economic Development.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, November 7, 2013, the Committee resumed its study of Land-Use and Sustainable Economic Development.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Study of Land Management and Sustainable Economic Development on First Nation Reserve Land".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 

At 4:43 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:49 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

At 4:51 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
