The Subcommittee on Bill C-38 (Part 3) of the Standing Committee on Finance met in a televised session at 6:29 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Blaine Calkins, presiding.

 

Members of the Subcommittee present: Mike Allen, Stella Ambler, David Anderson, Blaine Calkins, Robert Chisholm, Kirsty Duncan, Randy Kamp, Anne Minh-Thu Quach and Michelle Rempel.

 

Acting Members present: Jamie Nicholls for Peter Julian, Blake Richards for Michelle Rempel, Philip Toone for Megan Anissa Leslie and Brad Trost for Brian Storseth.

 

Other Members present: Dennis Bevington, Randy Hoback, Elizabeth May and Blake Richards.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(1)a) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, the Subcommittee resumed its study of Bill C-38, Part 3 (Responsible Resource Development).
 

At 6:29 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 6:33 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Jacob Irving, Eduard Wojczynski, Thomas E. Siddon, Pamela Schwann, Jean-François Tremblay and Christian Simard made statements and answered questions.

 

At 8:31 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 8:37 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Lorne Fisher, Stephen Hazell, Jamie Kneen and Gregory Thomas made statements and answered questions.

 

David Anderson moved, — That the Subcommittee give the draft instructions to the analysts for the study of the draft report of the Subcommittee on Bill C-38, Part III (Responsible Resource Development).

 

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to, by a show of hands: YEAS: 7; NAYS: 4.

 

At 10:24 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:26 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Robert Chisholm moved, — That the Subcommittee invite the Minister of Natural Resources, the Minister of the Environment and the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans and Minister for the Atlantic Gateway at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2012.

 

The question was put on the motion and it was negatived, by a show of hands: YEAS: 5; NAYS: 6.

 

At 10:59 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
