The Standing Committee on Natural Resources met at 3:43 p.m. this day, in Room 268, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Leon Benoit, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Mike Allen, David Anderson, Leon Benoit, Blaine Calkins, Joan Crockatt, Ted Hsu, Peter Julian, Ryan Leef, Laurin Liu, Jamie Nicholls and Brad Trost.

 

Acting Members present: Glenn Thibeault for Claude Gravelle.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Milana Simikian, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Montreal Economic Institute: Youri Chassin, Economist; Germain Belzile, Economist. Macdonald-Laurier Institute: Philip Cross, Research Coodinator. Analytica Advisors Inc.: Céline Bak, President, Co-Founder, Canadian Clean Technology Coalition. Canadian Auto Workers: Jim Stanford, Economist; Fred Wilson, Assistant to the President, Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, the Committee resumed its study of market diversification in the energy sector.
 

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $ 20,500, for the study of market diversification in the energy sector, be adopted.

 

Germain Belzile, Philip Cross, Céline Bak, Fred Wilson and Jim Stanford made statements and, with Youri Chassin, answered questions.

 

At 5:30 p.m., by unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.

 

At 5:32 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
