This is meeting 45 of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs.

We were to be meeting with Madam O'Brien and the acting law clerk this morning, but due to some health reasons, they are not able to join us today. They will join us on the first Tuesday we are back. We had set aside some committee business for today, so I thought it was still important that we meet and use our time for that. We will move on to that.

Bill C-21 has been referred to our committee. With the committee's permission, I would like to move on it as soon as we can. I would like to get witness lists from each group. Thank you, Mr. Garneau, for already supplying us with yours. Great work. If we could get witness lists from each group for the morning of the first Tuesday we are back, we could start. We will have a quick bit of committee business on that day to discuss how we're moving forward.

Mr. Lukiwski.

Mr. Tom Lukiwski (Regina—Lumsden—Lake Centre, CPC):

I don't want to be accused of being completely anal here, but if we are dealing with future business, should we be in camera, or should we do this in public?

The Chair:

I apologize. We did start in public today. Generally when we do committee business, we are in camera in this committee. I take the will of the committee.

Mr. Reid.

Mr. Scott Reid (Lanark—Frontenac—Lennox and Addington, CPC):

My colleague could move that we go in camera, and then we automatically have to vote.

The Chair:

That's exactly what happens. Has that been moved? Will we go in camera to do committee business?

Mr. Tom Lukiwski:

I think that has been the practice of the committee to do that.

The Chair:

It has been our practice; you're right.

I thought that we would be having a public meeting today, and that's where we started.

Mr. Tom Lukiwski:

In that case, I move that we deal with future or committee business in camera. When we get off that, we can go back to public.

The Chair:

Absolutely. That calls for a vote for the committee to move in camera.
