The Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met in camera at 12:01 p.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Joe Preston, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Harold Albrecht, Joe Comartin, Nathan Cullen, Hon. Laurie Hawn, Greg Kerr, Alexandrine Latendresse, Tom Lukiwski, Joe Preston, Nycole Turmel and Bob Zimmer.

 

Acting Members present: Kevin Lamoureux for Marc Garneau and Costas Menegakis for Scott Reid.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Andre Barnes, Analyst; Michel Bédard, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, - That the Third Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in:

1. That the meetings scheduled for Tuesday, May 1, 2012 be devoted to the study of the draft report on the study of the question of privilege relating to threats to the Member for Provencher.

2. That the meetings scheduled for Thursday, May 3, and Tuesday May 8, 2012 be devoted to the study of the question of privilege regarding the free movement of Members within the Parliamentary Precinct and that the Committee hear testimony from affected members and the Sergeant-At-Arms.

3. That the meeting scheduled for Thursday, May 10, 2012 be devoted to the study of the review of the Conflict of Interest Code for Members of the House of Commons and that the Committee hear testimony from the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner; and that a draft report on this study be adopted and presented to the House of Commons.

4. That the meetings scheduled for Tuesday, May 15 and Thursday, May 17, 2012 be devoted to the study of the Conflict of Interest Code for Members and that the Committee hear testimony from members wishing to address the Committee.

5. That the meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 29, 2012 be devoted to the 2012-2013 Main Estimates and that the Committee hear testimony from the Chief Electoral Officer from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from the Speaker and the Clerk of the House of Commons from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

6. That the meeting scheduled for Thursday, June 14, 2012 be devoted to the study of the allegations of Wrong-Doing during the 41st General Election and that the Committee hear testimony from the Chief Electoral Officer.

 
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Tuesday, March 6, 2012, the Committee resumed consideration of the question of privilege relating to threats to the Member for Provencher.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

At 12:50 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
