The Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Ed Komarnicki, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Brad Butt, Rodger Cuzner, Joe Daniel, Carol Hughes, Ed Komarnicki, Kellie Leitch, Claude Patry and Devinder Shory.

 

Acting Members present: Dan Albas for Colin Mayes, Chris Alexander for Kellie Leitch, Dean Allison for Phil McColeman, Parm Gill for Devinder Shory, Marc-André Morin for Manon Perreault, Mike Sullivan for Jean Crowder and Lawrence Toet for Colin Mayes.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Sandra Gruescu, Analyst; André Léonard, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities: Carole Bouchard, Executive Director. Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants: Jylan Khalil, Director, Chartered Accountants Qualification; Doretta Thompson, Principal, Education and Communications. Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators: Katya Masnyk Duvalko, Chief Executive Officer. Certified General Accountants Association of Canada: Carole Presseault, Vice-President, Government and Regulatory Affairs. Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists: Claudia von Zweck, Executive Director. Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters: Mathew Wilson, Vice-President, National Policy.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on September 29, 2011, the Committee resumed its study of A Framework for Success: Practical Recommendations to Further Shorten the Foreign Qualification Recognition Process.
 

Doretta Thompson, Jylan Khalil, Mathew Wilson and Carole Presseault made statements and answered questions.

 

At 4:33 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:44 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Claudia von Zweck, Katya Masnyk Duvalko and Carole Bouchard made statements and answered questions.

 

At 5:30 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
