The Standing Committee on International Trade met at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 268, La Promenade Building, the Chair, the Hon. Rob Merrifield, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Ron Cannan, Don Davies, Hon. Wayne Easter, Russ Hiebert, Ed Holder, Gerald Keddy, Hon. Rob Merrifield, Marc-André Morin, Annick Papillon, Jasbir Sandhu, Bev Shipley and Devinder Shory.

 

Acting Members present: James Lunney for Hon. Ron Cannan.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: June Dewetering, Chief, Macroeconomics and Trade; Alexandre Gauthier, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Canadian Vintners Association: Dan Paszkowski, President and Chief Executive Officer. Posiflex Design Inc.: Lyne Noiseux, President; Sébastien Tardif, Vice-President, Sales and Marketing. Brian Moore Log Homes: Aaron Moore, Owner. Railway Association of Canada: Michael Bourque, President and Chief Executive Officer; Bruce Burrows, Vice-President, Public and Corporate Affairs; Robert Taylor, Director, Federal Government Affairs, Canadian Pacific Railway. Canadian Association of Importers and Exporters: Joy Nott, President. British Columbia Trucking Association: Louise Yako, President and Chief Executive Officer.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, the Committee resumed its study of a comprehensive and high-level economic partnership agreement (EPA) with Japan.
 

Aaron Moore, by videoconference from Abbotsford, British Columbia, Dan Paszkowski and Sébastien Tardif made statements and, with Lyne Noiseux, answered questions.

 

At 4:32 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:38 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Louise Yako, by videoconference from Vancouver, British Columbia, Michael Bourque and Joy Nott made statements and answered questions.

 

At 5:33 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
