The Standing Committee on International Trade met in camera at 11:03 a.m. this day, in Room 268, La Promenade Building, the Chair, the Hon. Rob Merrifield, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Ron Cannan, Raymond Côté, Hon. Wayne Easter, Russ Hiebert, Ed Holder, Gerald Keddy, Brian Masse, Hon. Rob Merrifield, Ève Péclet, Mathieu Ravignat, Bev Shipley and Devinder Shory.

 

Associate Members present: David Wilks.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: June Dewetering, Chief, Macroeconomics and Trade; Alexandre Gauthier, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee continue its consideration of the report on the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) with the European Union during the meetings of February 2 and 7, 2012, and subsequent meetings, if necessary to complete the consideration; that, if the consideration of the report is completed, the Committee, in order, continue its study of the Trade Commissioner Service and its study of the Comprehensive, Economic and Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with India; and that the Committee suspend all current studies in order to consider immediately Bill C-23, Canada–Jordan Economic Growth and Prosperity Act, if the bill is referred by the House of Commons.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, the Committee resumed its study of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) with the European Union.
 

The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

 

At 12:53 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
