Bloc Québécois Supplementary Opinion What about the next time? Report The Bloc Québécois does not in any way disagree with this report, which highlights the problems with the organization of the G20 summit in Toronto, particularly in terms of security, and the unacceptable violations of the basic rights of hundreds of peaceful protestors. For that reason, we were expecting the committee to take the Toronto chief of police to task for making comments before the Committee that effectively tarnished the reputation of the people who were unlawfully arrested in the University of Toronto gymnasium the morning of June 27, 2010, when all charges against them were dropped. To conclude, because these key players refuse to take responsibility for their part in this fiasco, we fear that there could be a repeat of this type of over-the-top action. |
