The Legislative Committee on Bill C-32 met in a televised session at 11:01 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Gordon Brown, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Charlie Angus, Peter Braid, Gordon Brown, Serge Cardin, Dean Del Mastro, Ed Fast, Marc Garneau, Mike Lake, Carole Lavallée, Hon. John McCallum, Hon. Dan McTeague and Pablo Rodriguez.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Dara Lithwick, Analyst; Maxime-Olivier Thibodeau, Analyst. House of Commons: Julie-Anne Macdonald, Procedural Clerk.

 

Witnesses: Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists: Ferne Downey, National President; Stephen Waddell, National Executive Director. International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees: John Lewis, Vice-President, Director, Canadian Affairs; Paul Taylor, International Representative. Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Friday, November 5, 2010, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-32, An Act to amend the Copyright Act.
 

Ferne Downey, Stephen Waddell, John Lewis and Paul Taylor made statements and answered questions.

 

At 12:01 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:08 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Patricia Feheley, April Britski and Christian Bédard made statements and, with Johanna Robinson, Miriam Shiell, Anthony Urquhart and Nadia Myre, answered questions.

 

At 12:58 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
