The Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs met at 11:05 a.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, David Sweet, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Guy André, Greg Kerr, Ben Lobb, Colin Mayes, Phil McColeman, Robert Oliphant, Peter Stoffer, David Sweet and Robert Vincent.

 

Acting Members present: James Bezan for Brian Storseth, Hon. Anita Neville for Hon. Judy Sgro and Francis Scarpaleggia for Bonnie Crombie.

 

In attendance: House of Commons: Julie-Anne Macdonald, Committee Clerk. Library of Parliament: Jean-Rodrigue Paré, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: As individuals: Sean Bruyea, Retired Captain (Air Force), Advocate and Journalist; Carolina Bruyea, Veteran's Spouse.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, March 11, 2010, the Committee resumed its review of the new Veterans Charter.
 

Sean Bruyea and Carolina Bruyea made statements and answered questions.

 

At 12:08 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:11 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That, on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, the Committee invite Mrs. Francine Matteau for the first hour (public meeting) and Mr. Harold Leduc for the second hour (in camera) in relation to its review of the New Veterans Charter.

 

At 12:45 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
