| Q-4652 — October 15, 2009 — Mr. Murphy (Moncton—Riverview—Dieppe) — With regard to seniors’ pensions and benefits provided by the government: (a) what is the government doing to assure a proper level of compensation for retired seniors dependent on government support; (b) is the pension amount in line with seniors needs and increases in the costs of living; (c) what is being done to ensure that an increase in one area of government support is not clawed back or eliminated by a decrease in another area of government support; (d) what are the benchmarks used in determining the levels of support needed by a senior citizen; (e) are these benchmarks different from region to region and, if so, how are the differences determined; (f) is the government planning pension reforms, and if so, what will the reforms entail, when will they be made known, when will they be implemented, and will they adequately support the number of qualified seniors; (g) has the government predicted how many people will become qualified for these programs in the future and, if so, what projections has the government made in this regard; and (h) what increases does the government predict for contributors to these programs over the next ten years? | Q-4652 — 15 octobre 2009 — M. | October 15, 2009 — Mr. Guimond (Rimouski-Neigette—Témiscouata—Les Basques) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should act urgently to provide the forestry industry, which has been hit hard by the economic crisis, with assistance which is similar to that given to the automotive industry concentrated in Ontario, and primarily through tax credits, loans and loan guarantees so that companies have immediate access to cash, and tax measures for private woodlot owners. | 15 octobre 2009 — M. Guimond (Rimouski-Neigette—Témiscouata—Les Basques) — Que, de l'avis de la Chambre, le gouvernement devrait de toute urgence apporter une aide, comparable à celle qu'il a apportée à l'industrie automobile concentrée en Ontario, à l'industrie forestière, qui est gravement touchée par la crise économique, notamment par le biais de crédits d'impôt, de prêts et de garanties de prêts afin de fournir immédiatement des liquidités aux entreprises et de mesures fiscales destinées aux propriétaires de boisés privés. |

| M-446 — October 15, 2009 — Ms. Davies (Vancouver East) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should immediately introduce comprehensive legislation, regulations and policies to address human trafficking, including child trafficking, in both its international and domestic manifestations and that such measures should include: (a) establishing a special investigation task force linked to provincial, federal and international agencies involved in preventing and prosecuting human trafficking, with a mandate to investigate, track and prosecute traffickers and locate the victims of trafficking; and (b) ensuring high quality and comprehensive support services to victims of human trafficking by locating victims, providing culturally competent services, and establishing coordinated reintegration services and programs for those who have been trafficked. | M-446 — 15 octobre 2009 — Mme Davies (Vancouver-Est) — Que, de l’avis de la Chambre, le gouvernement devrait immédiatement adopter des mesures législatives et réglementaires et des politiques afin de s’attaquer à la traite des personnes, notamment celle des enfants, tant à l’échelle internationale que nationale, et que ces mesures comportent notamment : a) l’établissement d’un groupe de travail spécial lié aux organismes provinciaux, fédéraux et internationaux qui s’efforcent de prévenir la traite de personnes et de poursuivre les contrevenants, qui aurait pour mandat de mener des enquêtes, de débusquer et poursuivre les contrevenants et de retrouver les victimes; b) la prestation de services de soutien complets et de qualité pour les victimes de la traite, notamment la localisation des victimes, la fourniture de services adaptés à la culture, de même que l’établissement et la coordination de services et de programmes de réinsertion sociale pour les victimes. |
