The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met at 11:06 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Derek Lee, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Rob Anders, Diane Bourgeois, Patrick Brown, Paul Calandra, Jacques Gourde, Martha Hall Findlay, Derek Lee, Pat Martin, Hon. Dan McTeague, Jean-Yves Roy and Chris Warkentin.

Acting Members present: Paul Dewar for Pat Martin.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Lydia Scratch, Analyst.

Witnesses: Canadian Federation of Independent Business: Corinne Pohlmann, Vice-President, National Affairs. Department of Public Works and Government Services: Tim McGrath, Assistant Deputy Minister, Real Property Branch; Shereen Miller, Director General, Small and Medium Enterprises Sector, Acquisitions Branch; Mike Hawkes, Special Advisor, Accelerated Infrastructure Program. Canadian Business Information Technology Network: Jeff Lynt, Chair; Jean Thivierge, Vice-Chair.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c) and the motions adopted by the Committee on February 5 and 10, 2009, the Committee commenced its study of the federal government's procurement processes.

Corinne Polhmann, Tim McGrath, Jeff Lynt and Jean Thivierge made a statement and, with Shereen Miller, answered questions.

At 11:48 a.m., Rob Anders took the Chair.

At 11:57 a.m., Derek Lee took the Chair.

It was agreed, — That the Committee undertake the study of the Main Estimates 2009-2010 on Thursday March 5, 2009.

At 1:01 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
