The Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 11:07 a.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Dean Allison, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dean Allison, Josée Beaudin, Dona Cadman, Ron Cannan, Ed Komarnicki, Yves Lessard, Ben Lobb, Tony Martin, Hon. Maria Minna, Michael John Savage and Maurice Vellacott.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Geoff Regan for Raymonde Folco and Hon. Joseph Volpe for Raymonde Folco.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Chantal Collin, Analyst; Kevin Kerr, Analyst. House of Commons: Carmen DePape, Procedural Clerk.

 

Witnesses: Department of Human Resources and Skills Development: Karen Jackson, Senior Assistant Deputy Minister, Income Security and Social Development Branch; Laura Oleson, Acting Director General, Office for Disability Issues.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, April 30, 2009, the Committee resumed its study of the Operation and Financial Support allocated by the Enabling Accessibility Fund for Small and Major Projects.
 

At 11:10 a.m., the Vice-Chair, Yves Lessard, took the Chair.

 

Karen Jackson made a statement and, with the other witness, answered questions.

 

At 12:10 p.m., Dean Allison, took the Chair.

 

At 12:34 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:35 p.m., the Committee proceeded to sit in camera.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, the Committee undertook its study of the 2009 Centennial Flame Research Award.
 

The Committee considered the list of applicants for the award.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

At 1:02 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
