| In accordance with its mandate pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), your Committee has considered the question of spousal sponsorships and removals. | Conformément au mandat que lui confère le paragraphe 108(2) du Règlement, votre Comité a examiné la question des demandes de parrainage et des renvois. |
| The Committee recommends that the government allow any applicant (unless they have serious criminality) who has filed their first in-Canada spousal or common law sponsorship application, accompanied by a permanent residency application, to be entitled to a temporary work permit and an automatic stay of removal until a decision is rendered on their application. | Le Comité recommande que le gouvernement permette à toute personne (sauf si elle a commis un crime grave) qui a présenté une première demande de parrainage au Canada de son époux ou conjoint de fait accompagnée d’une demande de résidence permanente, d’obtenir un permis de travail temporaire et un sursis de renvoi automatique jusqu’à ce qu’une décision soit rendue à l’égard de sa demande. |
