The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met in camera at 11:14 a.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Gary Ralph Schellenberger, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Charlie Angus, Rod Bruinooge, Dean Del Mastro, Ruby Dhalla, Jacques Gourde, Nina Grewal, Carole Lavallée, Roger Pomerleau, Pablo Rodriguez, Gary Ralph Schellenberger and Tim Uppal.

 

Acting Members present: Mario Silva for Scott Simms.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michael Dewing, Analyst; Marion Ménard, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee proceed to the consideration of a draft report on the study on Canadian Musical Diversity Programs on Tuesday, November 17, 2009.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee be granted an operational budget of $20,000 for its study on Canadian Musical Diversity Programs.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite Massimo Pacetti, M.P., and other witnesses to appear on Thursday, November 19, Tuesday, November 24 and Thursday, November 26, 2009, on Bill C-302, An Act to recognize the injustice that was done to persons of Italian origin through their “enemy alien” designation and internment during the Second World War, and to provide for restitution and promote education on Italian-Canadian history.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee resume its study on Canada in the digital age on December 1, 3, 8 and 10 2009; and

That the Committee examine its work plan for that study on Tuesday, December 1, 2009.

 

At 12:25 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
