The Standing Committee on National Defence met at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, Rick Casson, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Claude Bachand, Dawn Black, Steven Blaney, Robert Bouchard, John Cannis, Rick Casson, Laurie Hawn, James Lunney, Hon. Joe McGuire and Anthony Rota.

 

Acting Members present: Richard Harris for Cheryl Gallant and Hon. Geoff Regan for Hon. Bryon Wilfert.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: James Cox, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Privy Council Office: David Mulroney, Deputy Minister. Military Family Resource Centre, Halifax and Region: Colleen Calvert, Executive Director. Gagetown Military Family Resource Centre: Beth Corey, Executive Director. Petawawa Military Family Resource Centre: Theresa Sabourin, Executive Director. Military Family Services: Celine Thompson, Director.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted on Thursday, April 3, 2008, the Committee proceeded to a briefing on the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Summit in Bucharest, Romania.
 

David Mulroney made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 4:14 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:18 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, the Committee resumed its study of health services provided to Canadian Forces personnel with an emphasis on post-traumatic stress disorder.
 

Celine Thompson, Colleen Calvert, Beth Corey, and Theresa Sabourin made statements and answered questions.

 

At 5:32 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
