The Standing Committee on Human Resources, Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met in camera at 9:06 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Dean Allison, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dean Allison, France Bonsant, Gord Brown, Rodger Cuzner, Ruby Dhalla, Jacques Gourde, Mike Lake, Yves Lessard, Tony Martin, Michael Savage, Hon. Judy Sgro and Lynne Yelich.

 

Acting Members present: Denise Savoie for Tony Martin.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Chantal Collin, Analyst; Kevin Kerr, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, November 26, 2007, the Committee resumed its study of Employability in Canada.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

 

It was agreed, — That the following report from the Sub-committee on Agenda and Procedure be adopted:

That the following working calendar be recommended to the Committee:

That 2 or 3 committee meetings be devoted to finish the study on Employability in Canada;

That 2 or 3 committee meetings be devoted to the study and clause-by-clause of Bill C-265 (An Act to amend the Employment Insurance Act (qualification for and entitlement to benefits)); and

That the Committee thereafter commence its study on poverty.

 

At 10:53 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
